Located here at the shop in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
Black hull, beige deck, Linen sail, mooring cover, oars, Cetol finish on the teak, Ensign and flagstaff, deck cleat, trailer with tongue jack, spare tire. Also, some special extras: The flat section of the bottom of the boat has been freshly painted in protective carbon based epoxy resin, a brass rubbing strip on the hull under the bow, custom brass name plate, extra cushions, and (very expensive) custom bags for spars, rudder and tiller.
“Marie Ann” is another of those opportunities to own a Melonseed Skiff that is in such grand condition that she is remarkably close to a brand new boat. The cost savings VS. a new boat with all her options and additions would be almost $,4000. We brought her in the boat shop for a week of minor cosmetic touch ups and a fresh shine and she’s stunningly attractive and near perfect, and you can see that in the photos. In the auto business, I guess they call this “factory certified”, we’ll call it “boat builder loved”.
A beautiful example of the Crawford Melonseed at its finest she’s ready for the water and years of sailing pleasure.

OWNER’S COMMENTS:
“ I will truly miss the Melonseed and reaching the decision to sell her was a tough one.
We have a cabin cruiser on Lake Winnipesaukee which serves as our home away from home. That, combined with the fact that my wife enjoys the cruiser’s amenities, and I am left with no time for sailing. To be honest, I can’t help but feel that I am selling the wrong boat; as the Melonseed provides so much enjoyment on the water and it asks for nothing in return.
To date, the Melonseed has been in the water a total of 6-times, and the boat trailer likely has no more than 500 miles on it. After each sail, I would wax the hull and thoroughly clean the cockpit, and the boat has always been stored in a heated garage. In fact, last night when I removed the mooring cover to retrieve my personal items, the boats interior still had the same new boat smell as the day I picked it up in your shop.
I take comfort in knowing that you will ensure that she goes to a good home.”
